KDA is always looking for new members to join us in our mission to protect Kentucky’s legacy in Bourbon, honor the history behind it, and share our beloved spirits with the world. And to be clear: we’re not just about Bourbon. Distillers of all spirits play a huge part in ensuring the strength and integrity of our $9 billion signature industry.
Heritage Member
As the highest rank within the KDA, our Heritage level membership is open to licensed distillers and rectifiers in Kentucky that age more than 50,000 barrels a year. Heritage members enjoy several elite benefits, including the opportunity to be a part of the world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail®—our industry’s most prestigious tourism experience.
Each Heritage member has the opportunity to appoint a voting representative to the KDA Board of Directors and all advisory panels, including the right to become an esteemed Officer of the Board and lead the historic organization and the industry at large.

Proof Member
Proof level membership is KDA’s second highest tier and is reserved for licensed distillers and rectifiers in Kentucky that maintain an inventory of 10,000-49,999 barrels a year.
In addition to having representation on the KDA Board of Directors and KDA advisory panels, proof members are also eligible to join the KBT® or Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour® experiences.

Craft Member
The Craft level membership is reserved for licensed Kentucky Distillers and rectifiers that maintain an inventory below 10,000 barrels a year. Our Craft members fall within two categories: Introductory level (distillers that maintain an annual inventory of up to 1,000 barrels) and Established level (distillers that maintain an annual inventory of 1,000 – 10,000 barrels).
In addition to voting representation on the KDA’s Craft Advisory Panel and other advisory panels, Craft members are eligible to join the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® experience, the first tourism attraction devoted to small distilleries in the country.

Educational Member
Moonshine University is the education provider of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association. Its KDA Board certified curriculum includes industry leading experts from KDA member companies. KDA proudly endorses the curriculum presented at Moonshine University for advancing professionalism in the distilled spirits industry and representing industry best practices.
Industry Member
The KDA recognizes the businesses and organizations that are vital to the sustainable and responsible growth of Kentuckyʼs Bourbon and distilled spirits industry.
Industry membership allows our supporting entities to connect with leaders and key staff, join conversations on diverse issues, bring new ideas to the table, and take advantage of the tremendous resources, networking and support that the KDA provides.
