uniting our industry for the love of the craft
From the world’s most legendary brands to emerging distillers on the rise, our members are spread far and wide across the Commonwealth—but we all share a common goal: to promote, protect and strengthen the future of Kentucky Bourbon.
Heritage Member
As the highest rank within the KDA, our Heritage level membership is open to licensed distillers in Kentucky that age more than 50,000 barrels a year. Heritage members enjoy several elite benefits, including the opportunity to be a part of the world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail®—our industry’s most prestigious tourism experience.

Each Heritage member has the opportunity to appoint a voting representative to the KDA Board of Directors and all advisory panels, including the right to become an esteemed Officer of the Board and lead the historic organization and the industry at large.
Proof Member
Proof level membership is KDA’s second highest tier and is reserved for licensed distillers in Kentucky that maintain an inventory of 10,000-49,999 barrels a year.

In addition to having representation on the KDA Board of Directors and KDA advisory panels, proof members are also eligible to join the KBT® or Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour® experiences.
Craft Member
The Craft level membership is reserved for licensed Kentucky distillers that maintain an inventory below 10,000 barrels a year. Our Craft members fall within two categories: Introductory level (distillers that maintain an annual inventory of up to 1,000 barrels) and Established level (distillers that maintain an annual inventory of 1,000 – 10,000 barrels).

In addition to voting representation on the KDA’s Craft Advisory Panel and other advisory panels, Craft members are eligible to join the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour® experience, the first tourism attraction devoted to small distilleries in the country.
