Art Eatables Named Official Sponsor of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Tour

February 6, 2013

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Looking for a special Valentine’s Day treat for the Bourbon lover in your life? Try Art Eatables, a premiere Bourbon chocolatier that’s the newest Kentucky Bourbon Trail Official SponsorTM.

“Bourbon aficionados have become increasingly interested in the art of culinary pairings with our signature spirit,” said Adam Johnson, Director of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail experience.

“Art Eatables has capitalized on this trend, using a variety of premium Kentucky Bourbons in their confections and selecting ingredients that perfectly compliment the flavor profile of the featured Bourbon.”

Art Eatables owner and master chocolatier Kelly Ramsey said, “Our truffles reflect the uniqueness of Kentucky’s signature Bourbon industry. Some Bourbons boast of caramel and vanilla, and these flavors are detected in the chocolate.

“Occasionally, the truffle pulls out hidden notes that you might not have noticed. By paying attention to both the chocolate and the Bourbon, our Small Batch Bourbon Truffles deliver a taste experience like no other.”

Art Eatables is located at 631 South Fourth Street Louisville. For more information, call (502) 589-0210 or visit online at www.arteatables.com for a list of products and local retailers.

Created by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association in 1999, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour offers visitors a first-hand, educational experience into the art and science of crafting the world’s greatest Bourbon.

The iconic journey features Four Roses and Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg; Heaven Hill in Bardstown; Jim Beam in Clermont; Maker’s Mark in Loretto; Town Branch in Lexington and Woodford Reserve in Versailles.

“We’re very excited to work with the Kentucky Bourbon Trail distilleries and become a sponsor,” said Forest Ramsey, Kelly’s husband and co-owner. “We’re in a great location, with the right product, to introduce a lot of people to the wonders of Bourbon.”

Johnson said Kentucky Bourbon Trail® sponsorships are available to select transportation companies, restaurants and bars, businesses, hotels and inns, tourism attractions and convention and visitors’ bureaus.

All must have a link to the Bourbon industry or the responsible consumption of spirits.

Visits to Kentucky Bourbon Trail® distilleries broke the half-million mark in 2012 for the first time ever, a 15 percent increase over the previous year. More than 2 million people have visited participating distilleries in the last five years alone, Johnson said.

The KDA’s Passport program — which rewards visitors who tour all seven distilleries — also set an all-time high in 2012 with 18,360 completions. That is a 56 percent over 2011 numbers.

KDA President Eric Gregory applauded Art Eatables for its support and dedication to creating hand-made products that accent Kentucky Bourbon. “Visitors are always looking for new ways to immerse themselves in the Bourbon lifestyle,” he said.

“Just as chocolate compliments Bourbon, the addition of Art Eatables will encourage people to learn more about our state’s spirit through the Kentucky Bourbon Trail adventure and our unrivaled craftsmanship.”
