Bardstown Bourbon Company Again Earns EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Certification for Superior Energy Efficiency

Bardstown, Ky. (December 29, 2025) – Bardstown Bourbon Company, part of Lofted Spirits, has again earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR certification, which signifies that the industrial plant performs in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. In 2023, Bardstown Bourbon Company was one of the first-ever distilleries nationally to receive the ENERGY STAR, reflecting continued commitment to energy conservation and leadership in the spirits industry.

Earning ENERGY STAR certification highlight Bardstown Bourbon Company’s status within the top 25 percent of distilleries in the nation with regard to energy performance. Though the distillery has more than doubled capacity since 2018, Bardstown Bourbon today uses 30 percent less energy by capturing and redeploying the heat produced by distillation. Lofted Spirits continues to improve its energy performance by managing energy strategically across the entire organization and by making cost-effective improvements to its plant.

ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce emissions through energy efficiency. To date, tens of thousands of buildings and plants across all fifty states have earned the ENERGY STAR.
