Boone County Distilling Co. Wins Double Gold at San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Boone County’s Eighteen 33 Single Barrel beat out hundreds at prestigious spirits competition.

BOONE COUNTY, KY, May 30, 2018 – Boone County Distilling Company, one of Kentucky’s most exciting craft distillers, brought home gold with a Double Gold win at the 18th Annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Boone County’s Eighteen 33 Single Barrel Cask, known for its mellow, oaky and sweet mash bill, beat out hundreds to win the coveted “Double Gold” award. This award is one of the highest for the competition, given to only a few entries that receive Gold medal ratings by all members of the judging panel. We are proud to be considered among the finest products in the world,” stated Sara Barnes, Boone County Distilling Company Marketing & Events Coordinator.

The Eighteen 33 Single Barrel Cask is also called “12 Year” properly named for its age. It is a limited-edition barrel strength bourbon that was distilled and barreled in the Spring of 2006 at the Old Seagram’s Distillery under the supervision of Legendary Master Distiller and Boone County resident Larry Ebersold. Barnes continued, “We are very pleased with how well it is aging, it’s a staff and customer favorite.”

San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) was founded in 2000 as a way to recognize exceptional products in the spirits industry. The 2018 Competition was the biggest in its history, featuring more than 2,200 entries. The SFWSC is considered to be the most influential spirits competition in the world.
