LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 8th, 2020)— On the biggest day of nonprofit giving, Give For Good, Mint Julep Experiences donated a 15-passenger bus to nonprofit organization, Change Today Change Tomorrow. Tourism continues to suffer the greatest impact from the spread of COVID-19, yet the local family small business, Mint Julep Experiences, has demonstrated its commitment to our community and compassion for those suffering throughout Louisville.

“It was actually our youngest daughter’s vision who volunteered and witnessed firsthand the impact of Change Today, Change Tomorrow. She opened our eyes to this passionate organization’s needs and impressed upon us what a difference a bus would mean and their ability to get food and their services further distributed into the community.  It’s what small family business’s do for their community when they are fortunate to have the ability to do so” said Sean Higgins, owner of Mint Julep Experiences

Kentucky’s Original Black Bourbon Enthusiasts (KOBBE) facilitated the connection between Mint Julep Experiences and Change Today, Change Tomorrow, exercising true community collaboration and power. KOBBE coordinates amongst the bourbon and hospitality industries to move resources to social justice-centered organizations.

The bus will be used to mobilize Change Today, Change Tomorrow’s initiatives; yielding a greater impact in service and accessibility in order to feed Louisville’s West End groceries, program materials, and client outreach.

“We are all about breaking barriers that impact the people we serve. We reached a point in our growth as an organization when we realized our community impact would be limited if we were not able to physically meet people where they are, en masse. Relying on volunteers’ cars for mobility was a quick fix, but we needed sustainability. We are grateful to KOBBE, our volunteers for advocating for Change Today, Change Tomorrow and Mint Julep Experiences for clearing the path.” said Taylor Ryan, Executive Director and Founder of CTCT.
