Kentucky Distiller bottles “Official Drink of the 2017 Solar Eclipse”

June 7, 2017, HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Casey Jones Distillery is preparing for the August 21, 2017 Total Solar Eclipse by bottling Casey’s Cut Total Eclipse Moonshine, the “Official Drink of the 2017 Solar Eclipse”.  This 100 proof commemorative spirit is credited with being “the closest you can get to bottling nature’s rare phenomenon,” according to the Casey Jones Distillery website.  On August 21, 2017, the solar eclipse’s point of greatest totality at two minutes and forty seconds is set to happen just 2 miles from Casey Jones Distillery’s in their hometown of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  To celebrate, the Kentucky distillery is now bottling their moonshine to commemorate the momentous event.

Each Casey’s Cut bottle, whether the commemorative eclipse drink or one of their five other corn whiskey spirits, is handcrafted at the distillery.  Each drop that comes off the still is tested for quality, and bottled with care at this Kentucky small-batch distillery.  “Not only is Casey Jones Distillery the best place to see the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, but between now and then, it’s also the best place to taste the eclipse.  This latest in the Casey’s Cut lineup of spirits has proven to be one of our most popular yet – especially when it’s used in our Casey’s Cut Eclipse-A-Rita’s,” says Master Distiller, Arlon Casey “AJ” Jones.  Jones refers to the popular margarita cocktail with a twist – using the 100 proof Total Eclipse Moonshine.
