Four Roses’ Brent Elliott Named Master Distiller of the Year

International media outlet Whisky Magazine presented honor at Icons of Whisky America

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (February 14, 2020) – Four Roses Master Distiller Brent Elliott was named Master Distiller/Blender of the Year at Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky America awards ceremony earlier this week in New York City.

A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Elliott began his career with Four Roses Distillery in 2005, and advanced to master distiller and director of quality in 2015, following the retirement of Hall of Fame master distiller Jim Rutledge.

Elliott has played an integral role in the growth and continued acclaim of Four Roses. His most notable addition to date in the storied history of the 132-year old Bourbon brand is the introduction of Four Roses Small Batch Select. Launched in spring 2019, the non-chill filtered, 104-proof Bourbon was the distillery’s first permanent product-line extension since 2006. Since its release, Small Batch Select was ranked No. 3 in Whisky Advocate’s Top 20 Whiskies of 2019 (and was the highest-rated Bourbon), and also earned Category Silver for Kentucky Bourbon at the 2020 World Whiskies Awards.

The World Whiskies Awards judging panel includes leading international spirits journalists and industry experts. Winners from the Icons of Whisky America and World Whiskies Awards 2020 will now go head-to-head with their contemporaries from across the globe for the global title, presented in London in March 2020.
