“Five-Star Spirits in the World”
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (June 13, 2012) — Four Roses’ 2012 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon was ranked number three on Paul Pacult’s list of the 140 Top Five-Star Spirits in the World for 2012.
F. Paul Pacult, renowned liquor industry critic and publisher of The Spirit Journal, “The Quarterly Independent Guide to Distilled Spirits, Beers and Wines,“ named Four Roses’ 2012 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon a five-star recommendation, the highest possible.
Four Roses’ 2012 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon was bottled at barrel strength and consists of a 12-year-old recipe coded OESK, one of the ten uniquely handcrafted bourbon recipes produced by the distillery. The OESK recipe encompasses a spicy, full-bodied flavor characteristic.
“Deliriously luscious scents…abound in the opening sniffs after the pour,” wrote Pacult in The Spirit Journal. “Entry is satiny smooth, delicately corny sweet and fruity; midpalate is profound, multilayered, corn cereal sweet and honeyed. Aftertaste is long, buttery and bittersweet. Fabulous.”
Four Roses’ 2012 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon was released in April with a distribution of approximately 4,000 bottles.
