Social mixer celebrates inclusion and community to benefit local recovery nonprofits

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2018) –  Tickets are now available for the S.V. Foundation’s inaugural charity social mixer A Drink for You, Wednesday, March 14th from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Mint Julep Tours at its Mint on Mellwood event space, this charitable fundraiser is presented by the S.V. Foundation and sponsored by Mint Julep Tours, Kentucky Distillers’ Association and Brown-Forman Corporation with support from RE’AL Mixers, Bourbon Barrel Foods and Heine Brothers’ Coffee.

Inspired by S.V. Foundation founder Jesse Hawkins’ personal struggle to find inclusion as a non-drinker, A Drink for You will highlight the foundation’s friends of The Mocktail Project, a grassroots movement to create a safer, more inclusive drinking culture in our community.

Proceeds from A Drink For You will fund recovery efforts through the Morton Center and The Healing Place to provide real hope to our community’s most at-risk and vulnerable citizens. Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased online at

“Mocking Off is a lifestyle choice,” said Hawkins. “Everyone deserves the option to hold a crafted beverage whether they choose to consume alcohol or not. We want A Drink For You to not just raise money for charity but also educate the community about inclusivity and break down social barriers.”

Event highlights will include mocktails, cocktails, and coffee paired with dishes from local chefs, live music, and the S.V. Foundation’s inaugural charity Mockoff Mocktail Competition. Featured celebrity guests competing in the Mockoff Mocktail Competition include Healing Place director of giving Doug Scott, Insider Louisville writer Sara Havens, and Louisville mayor Greg Fischer. Auctioneer Bill Menish will serve as emcee and mocktails will be judged live by Old Forester master taster Jackie Zykan and award winning flair bartender and beverage director at American Beverage Marketers Dean Serneels.

Well known Louisville chefs Allan Rosenberg of Butchertown Pizza Hall and Anoosh Shariat of Anoosh Bistro will prepare dishes complimenting cocktails from Brown-Forman spirits and mocktails made from RE’AL mixer products and Butchertown Soda. Guests will have the opportunity to craft their own mocktail from a mocktail bar provided by Bourbon Barrel Foods. For those who don’t enjoy a well crafted cocktail or mocktail, Heine Brothers will be brewing coffee as well.

A Drink for You will be covered live by Ann Curtis of Edible Louisville & the Bluegrass magazine and Jason Mudd of YesLouisville.

Additional spirits, food, and local celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.

ABOUT THE MOCKTAIL PROJECT AND THE S.V. FOUNDATION – Founder Jesse Hawkins created the S.V. Foundation and its social movement The Mocktail Project to encourage inclusion for non-drinkers across a variety of social communities. With a mission to help provide choice, eliminate unnecessary social pressures and remove societal stigmas, the S.V. Foundation and the Mocktail Project are creating a safer, more inclusive drinking culture. The Mocktail Project partners with local businesses to include non-alcoholic cocktails, called mocktails, to their menus. A portion from each mocktail ordered is donated to the S.V. Foundation to provide recovery efforts to our communities most at-risk and vulnerable citizens. For more information, visit
