Through a $25,000 Donation from Angel’s Envy, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation Awards Grant to Farm Distilled
FARM DISTILLED is a project building a diverse, workforce legacy that reflects the representation and inclusion of women and people of color in the food and beverage industry
NEW ORLEANS, LA (December 21, 2020) – Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) is thrilled to award a $25,000 grant within The Foundation’s Grants Program to Andrea Meriweather for her initiative “FARM DISTILLED” through a donation from Angel’s Envy. The Foundation’s grant program was formed in 2020 to help fund an initiative that advances equity, inclusion, and representation in the spirits industry.
In partnership with Louisville, Kentucky’s Historic Locust Grove, the FARM DISTILLED project equips underrepresented food and beverage talent, women and people of color, to explore professional development and entrepreneurship in the spirits industry through the exploration of history and trade. Further, the project aims to advocate for the employment of this talent pool to fulfill projected workforce shortages.
“We can’t afford for history to repeat itself; all sectors of this industry must be committed to the work
and investment to make this space more diverse, accessible and equitable,” said Andrea Meriwether.
“ANGEL’S ENVY’s philosophy is ‘revere tradition, embrace progress,’ and we know, now more than ever, that to embody those words, we must put in the work to drive impactful change across our industry. We support FARM DISTILLED’s mission — to provide opportunities for members of underrepresented groups within the spirits industry — and we’re proud to support this important work being done right in our backyard here in Louisville,” said Wes Henderson, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of ANGEL’S ENVY.
“We are honored to have ANGEL’S ENVY fund this incredibly important grant initiative,” shared Caroline Rosen, President of Tales of the Cocktail Foundation. “Andrea’s efforts will change what representation and inclusion look like in our industry and we are incredibly excited to see the FARM DISTILLED project further her mission.”
With its Grants Program, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation aims to support nascent or existing programs, non-profit organizations, and individuals developing a specific project that will impact the global hospitality community present day and beyond. For this specific grant, the recipient’s submission needed to support TOTCF’s core mission of Educating, Supporting, and Advancing the global spirits industry specifically through the lens of furthering representation and inclusivity. All grant submissions were reviewed by a global pool of industry professionals that comprise The Foundation’s Grants Advisory Committee.

ABOUT ANGEL’S ENVY
ANGEL’S ENVY is a Louisville-based craft distiller that produces small batch, finished whiskeys. Co-founded in 2010 by the late Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson and his son Wes Henderson, it began as a passion project that combined their family’s deep-rooted passion for and knowledge of the industry with an innovative outlook on bourbon making and finishing. Today, Wes Henderson and his sons Kyle, Andrew, Connor and Spencer Henderson continue the family legacy, working together to produce ANGEL’S ENVY’s core offerings – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels and Rye Whiskey Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks – as well as a variety of innovative, special releases.
ANGEL’S ENVY opened the doors to its distillery in 2016 – it was the first full-production whiskey distillery in downtown Louisville and is located at 500 East Main Street. The company distributes to all 50 U.S. states and several select international markets as of February 2020. ANGEL’S ENVY is produced by Louisville Distilling Company, a subsidiary of Bacardi Limited.
