Wilderness Trail Distillery plans second Bourbon release

August 7, 2018

For Immediate Release – August 6, 2018

DANVILLE, KY — You like your Bourbon aged and smooth and your BBQ slow-cooked and savory. Wilderness Trail Distillery can fill the bill for both when it has its second Bourbon release and hosts the KY State BBQ Festival Sept. 7-9.

The Danville distillery’s first Bottled in Bond Bourbon release was a huge success and it is time for the second of the three releases this year.  This release will be a wheated, Single Barrel, Bottled in Bond, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and a wheated Small Batch, Bottled in Bond, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

This special event coincides with the return of the KY State BBQ Festival to our 44-acre campus. This weekend is all about enjoying the food created by seven celebrity pitmasters, shopping with a variety of vendors, and enjoying music by seven bands.

“Our Bourbon releases offer a traditional mature Kentucky Bourbon whiskey you would have found decades ago. It has the taste and nose of an mature Kentucky Bourbon — mellow nose with sweet fruity oak, caramels twisted with creamy vanilla nut and a touch of chocolate. Enjoying it neat, it finishes silky smooth and long and proofing down on the rocks brings out more expressions of smoother aromatics and a creamier mouthfeel finish. Being most of the releases are Single Barrels, the different expressions from the barrel have been a true joy to experience.”

While you’re savoring the treats at the KY State BBQ Festival, please remember this event is a fundraiser for the Heart of Kentucky United Way.  So, enjoy your Wilderness Trail Bourbon responsibly and support this great cause by coming out. Check www.kybbqfestival.com for details.
