Curated Fine Dining to Complement Cocktails and View of Downtown Louisville

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2019) – – – Louisville-based Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. announces a partnership with Chef Dallas McGarity, owner of The Fat Lamb in Louisville and Portage House in Jeffersonville, Indiana, as chef-in-residence on the distillery premises.

“The number one request that we get from our guests visiting with us at ALEX&NDER is for food service that they could enjoy with their cocktail, beer or wine. Something delicious that they could spend more time appreciating and complementing the excellent bar service provided by Eron Plevan and his team,” said Copper & Kings Founder Joe Heron. “Lesley and I have been friends with Dallas for quite a while, we are regulars to the Lamb, and we had a tremendous experience writing our brandy cookbook, “Take Me To The River” together. This was a no-brainer – not only is he a chef of the highest standard, but he’s a great guy – creative but not flighty, inventive with very high standards and culinary discipline.”

Chef McGarity outlines his vision as, “A superior culinary experience, but one that is deeply hospitable. Our menu will be small and carefully curated, we want a menu that is elegantly simple without being intimidating, and that can complement the outstanding drinks served in ALEX&NDER. My wife and business partner, Laura and I feel a great affinity to Lesley and Joe. We can’t understand their accents, but we do laugh a lot together, and they have such ambition for excellence. The distillery is beautiful, ALEX&NDER may be one of the best bars in the world and our food must live up to that. We want to be part of the Butchertown culinary expansion, work in the same environment as some outstanding chefs, and we want to play a role in continuing to bring more and more people to one of Louisville’s most exciting neighborhoods.”

Chef McGarity’s first plating will start over the Labor Day weekend. Initial food service will focus on dinner on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m. Brunch and Dinner will be served on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be a Labor Day offering from 11 a.m. to 7pm. Guests will be seated on a first come, first serve basis with no reservations taken.
