LEXINGTON, Ky., September 7, 2022—Town Branch Distillery announces a new limited release Bourbon expression in conjunction with Bourbon Heritage Month. Town Branch Maple Barrel Stout Finished Bourbon is a one-of-a-kind, handmade bourbon. This will be a limited release of 6,000 bottles throughout the United States.

Town Branch Maple Barrel Stout Finished Bourbon (SRP $69.99 / 750ml) This unique expression of Town Branch Bourbon has been finished in freshly decanted Kentucky Maple Barrel Stout beer barrels to add flavors of the beer alongside traditional flavors of bourbon.

First, Lexington acquired freshly decanted ex-bourbon barrels that previously held Michigan maple syrup barrels to create the beloved Kentucky Maple Barrel Stout (12% abv). Kentucky Maple Barrel Stout is a bold imperial stout brewed with brown sugar for an extra kick. With flavors of roasted malt and cocoa, this brew was aged for 18 months in freshly decanted maple syrup bourbon barrels.

Second, while freshly decanted from the beer, these barrels were rolled over to the distillery and filled with Town Branch Kentucky Straight Bourbon to rest for over a year of finishing. The result, Town Branch Maple Barrel Stout Finished Bourbon evokes flavors from the beer and bourbon. With combined flavor profiles you get hints of oak, caramel, brown sugar, and cherry meet bold flavors of roasted malt, cocoa, and maple syrup.
